The University District Development Corporation (UDDC) Mobile Market is a community-focused health initiative designed to address food access challenges in the city of Little Rock. By bringing a fully-stocked grocery store directly to neighborhoods and community partners within the City of Little Rock’s wards:

We aim to increase community members’ access to fresh, healthy, and affordable food options while empowering individuals to make informed dietary choices.

According to Aspire Arkansas, recent data shows that 52% of census tracts in Arkansas are food deserts. This was 14 percentage points higher than the proportion for the nation of 38%. This makes Arkansas ranked 46th in America including all 50 states and Washington D.C. In addition, 61% of census tracts in Pulaski County are food deserts.
